Fantastic collection.

I have owned only one top-winder watch, a Cartier Tank Basculante. As much as I loved that watch, I can confirm that the crown at 12 o'clock made the experience uncomfortable.

Agreed!

Seldom does one highlight the movements used in a Cartier watch. But good God, they are the definition of great design. No other watch brand has so many iconic designs - the crash, the normale, the tank, the tank cintree, the tank basculante, the cloche,

No contest to me!

It is not about the movement but the Cartier to me is a lot more elegant as the case is thinner and the reversing mechanism is more complex. The winding crown of the Cartier though which is positioned at 12 o'clock is not the best but generally the dial o

Does anybody recognize this movement?

This robust little guy is the heart inside my Tank Basculante A10. I like it that the balance bridge is supported by two screws - a feature I have never seen on a movement this small before. Anybody can help me identify the origin of Cartier cal. 161?
